A preparation list for a business owner and an IT generalist planning their first AWS move.

KNOW WHAT MUST KEEP WORKING
[ ] List the application, database, file shares and scheduled tasks.
[ ] Identify who can test an order, login or other critical transaction.
[ ] Check vendor support and licence-transfer conditions.

PREPARE A REALISTIC CHANGE WINDOW
[ ] Find the people who control DNS, certificates and integrations.
[ ] Estimate data volume and ask when writes can pause.
[ ] Agree who can stop the migration and trigger rollback.

BRING THE FACTS TO A FREE ASSESSMENT
[ ] Share an inventory and available hosting costs, without credentials.
[ ] State the contract renewal date and acceptable interruption.
[ ] List unknowns; discovery can be scoped after the first discussion.
